Our Story
As a security professional for over 20 years, David Lineman helped over 100 companies build their information security programs, often acting as a “virtual” or “fractional” cyber security officer. As the cyber security threat and regulatory landscape has changed, the need for organizations to “comply” with cyber security has increased dramatically. Almost overnight, the need for a company to be “Cyber secure” went from large companies down to smaller ones.
As the trend continued, a clear pattern emerged: Businesses needed cyber security talent to help, but had a difficult time gaining access to professional, reliable, and affordable talent. Full time Chief Security Officers (CSO) and Chief Information Security Officers (CISO) are in high demand and are generally paid very well. To address this growing need, David Lineman and the Founding Team started CSO Virtual, the first firm dedicated exclusively to providing fractional cyber security services to any sized business.
